Mike Lomaka Conceptual Design Auto Rendering

It's always interesting to learn about an artist's creative history and the elements that have influenced a designer's body of work. Mike Lomaka, for instance, has always remembered having an interest in automobiles, but he attributes the time spent building model cars with his father a major contributing factor to his passion for custom cars and trucks.

Mike was lucky enough to study art and mechanical design throughout his high school days and later went on to earn his bachelor's degree in industrial design from Columbus College of Art and Design. Soon after graduation, Mike started his drafting business, Lomaka Conceptual Design, and went crazy with his pencil and paper drawings, as he has more than a few architectural and nostalgic-inspired auto renderings in his portfolio.

  • Mike Lomaka Conceptual Design Redwood Truck
'The Redwood' was loosely named after the Lincoln Blackwood and inspired from a '56 Ford panel van. The roofline was taken down a bit, and a wide window top and cab back was incorporated into the design to create this pickup version. A Mercury grille was added for an eclectic combination of styling cues.
