Jim Stuart, of Enid, Oklahoma, is a mild-mannered man who loves custom trucks and appreciates all types of customs. After building several S-10 mini-trucks, Jim decided to step up and create a classy fullsize truck worthy of genuine appreciation. The end result is a clean truck with every area touched and customized. Nothing wild or insane here - just a slick paint job, slammed stance, and an interior clean enough to live in.

Under the hood, Stone Cold Customs stuck with the clean and simple routine and painted all the plastics.
Jim lives a double-life. During the day he works at and owns Stone Cold Customs, in Enid, Oklahoma, where he builds and customizes trucks of all shapes and sizes, and at night he works for the United States Postal Service, a combination that could make anyone go postal. At his resident shop in Enid, Jim and his cohorts (Justin Skaggs, Josh Billings, and Josh Frazee) tag-teamed his 2003 Chevy Silverado and turned it into a daily driven show truck. Starting with the suspension, the crew at Stone Cold bolted on a set of Firestone 2600 airbags, an Ekstensive two-link, 1/2-inch lines, and SMC valves to get the fullsize rig laying the frame on the ground. Strengthening the frame, 1/4-inch steel plates were used to box in the frame and then the frame was ground smooth for a show appearance. Filling the fender gap are beautiful billet hoops from Budnik with 20-inch Series 430 wheels up front and 22x10-inch 430 wheels out back. Wrapping each wheel are Nitto 555 high-performance tires.
Keeping with the daily driven show-truck theme, Stone Cold smoothed the body by welding in a roll pan, shaving the emblems and side moldings, adding a billet grille and Street Scene Equipment signal mirrors, and painting the door handles. Speaking of paint, Stone Cold handled that as well with a classic PPG Victory Red and solid black two-tone, with silver separating the two bold colors. Completing the overall package is a huge sliding ragtop by VTS in Oklahoma City.

Inside the Silverado lies a clean interior that Stone Cold once again created. The dash bezel was smoothed and painted red, along with several pieces on the door panels. A Budnik steering wheel caps the painted steering column, and several other billet pieces were strategically placed throughout the interior. Tunes are provided thanks to a Sony CD player sending signals to a Crossfire amp, which powers two 12-inch Kicker subwoofers in a custom center console. Completing the interior, Jack's Auto Upholstery wrapped the seats in red and gray leather and laid down the red floor mats.

Under the new-body-style hood rests a 5.3L that has been upgraded with an Airaid intake and smoothed and painted plastic pieces.
Jim says his dad taught him to take his time and do it right the first time, and we'd say he did just that, because at the end of the day, Jim can say he built it his way.
