For the interior of this Ram, Elmo really let his imagination run wild. Its next stop was Nu Image in Norco, California, where the insides were stripped down until only the carpet remained. The dash was smoothed and painted blue with silver accents to match the exterior, and the gauge panel was airbrushed blue with zebra flames and topped with a billet insert. Finished to match was the steering column, which was topped with a Billet Specialties wheel. The door panels got the smooth painted treatment too, but not until after the inside door handles were shaved and the door-popper buttons were installed in the dash next to the air switches. Zebra print covers the door inserts as well as the headliner, which also houses the sunroof and the overhead console, where the two APC air pressure gauges are located. Both A-pillars were also covered with the animal print, and the driver side features a blue-painted single-pod gauge mount for the JAZ fuel cell gauge. The stock seat was re-covered in blue tweed with zebra inserts and remounted using chromed brackets. Matching blue floor mats with the Ram logo and several billet accents fill out the interior.
Elmo went straight to the top when it came to the audio/video system. The setup consists of an Alpine CVA1005 head unit controlling the two Rockford Fosgate amplifiers. One runs the two Kicker Solo-Baric 12-inch subwoofers mounted in custom enclosures, built by Ultimate Image in Covina, California. The other handles the Boston Rally Series mids and highs located in the doors. A Sony VCR is located under Elmo's seat for watching Sesame Street videos.
John told us that since an early age he wanted to have a truck that was nice enough to appear in Truckin' magazine. John thanks his parents and his club for all their help. We say better luck next time, John, but for now, you can check out Elmo's badass Mopar.
Elmo aired up to show off his dubs. The wheels are Genesis by Boyd Coddington and the tires are Potenzas by Bridgestone.
The flames are House of Kolor Passion Purple Pearl over a PPG Fine Silver base and were laid out in a unique, tribal-style pattern.
Elmo needed some color under the tonneau, so he cut a big hole in the floor and voila! This is just one area that shows off the detailing of this Ram.
The interior is completely tricked out from top to bottom with the dash and door panels smoothed and painted to match the exterior. Blue tweed and zebra print make up the remainder of the cockpit, and billet aluminum is sprinkled throughout. Check out the shaved inside door handle. The door-popper buttons are on the dash.
