Michael is a custom upholsterer by trade, and only recently did he get to "go Taz" on the Effie. The dash was smoothed over and fitted with digital gauges and controls for the Vintage Air system, then painted to match the exterior, with the graphics even extending onto the doors. A brushed-aluminum steering column was topped by a Banjo wheel from Grant, and the floor was covered with violet wool. Then came the leather. Lots of leather.

The dark Walnut bed floor...

The dark Walnut bed floor is a good match with the HOK Candy Violet paint. Check out how Michael rolled the ends of the bedrail instead of just capping them.
An extremely large amount of light-violet leather was imported from Sweden and delivered to Michael's place of business, the world-famous Sewfine Custom Upholstery in Missoula. The '85 Thunderbird seats, along with the hand-built center console and door panels, were creatively stitched up in the stuff, giving the Effie a look not often seen on its kind. A Clarion CD/DVD head unit with monitor was mounted in the console, along with the Clarion amp and separates. For bass, an amp/sub setup from Focus is located behind the seats, finishing off one of the most state-of-the-art interiors we've ever seen in an Effie.

The controls for the Vintage Air system are centered on the dash, just above the Clarion head unit/monitor that's housed in the hand-built center console.

Michael imported a whole bunch of light-violet leather from Sweden to re-cover the '85 T-bird seats, center console, and one-off door panels, and he used violet wool for the carpet.
Michael and his wife have already made it to five shows since the truck's completion, and don't you know it, received four First Place trophies and one best of show. To Michael, the accolades speak volumes in reference to doing things your own way, and now that we've had a look at the F-100, we wouldn't have it any other way.
