With the paint barely tacky, Ballistic Blue Oval was brought back to SoCal for the final reassembly thrash session. Advantage Audio in Brea, California, had the truck in its shop for a few days to hook the cab up with an arsenal of ear-blasting electronics. An Audiovox head unit sits at the helm of the system, while a pair of Kicker amplifiers power two 10-inch Kicker Solobaric subwoofers. Kicker mids and highs deliver midrange authority to the listening experience, while an Audiovox audio/video system provides viewing pleasure for front- and rear-seat passengers. The dash was smoothed and painted to match the exterior paint theme, and Classic Soft Trim stitched a leather and suede blend on the seats to enrich the inside experience. Radi's Custom Upholstery covered the door panels in suede to match the rest of the fabric updates, while Joe Conduff from House of Tint darkened up the factory glass to give Casey a bit more privacy.
Casey Scranton has built a few wild custom trucks and has earned a solid reputation in the automotive aftermarket arena. Ballistic Blue Oval is his finest example to date of a truck that can strut its stuff at the shows and pound the freeways Monday through Friday. Maybe more enthusiasts should build custom trucks in a 5-week time frame.
