Perception is everything in the automotive industry. When a truck is hit with some bodywork and shot with new pigment, it miraculously is rejuvenated to a renewed status. Because good paint and body requires a great attention to detail, and talented hands, starting with a freshly painted carcass can sometimes be a gamble. The unknown under pigment prep can be appealing, if you have a good eye. so, if you want to make sure the job's done right, or finish your build with some shaving and smoothing, or you just want to get top-dollar for that project, here's what you'll need to get the body and paint prepped, smoothed, and shot to perfection.
TACK CLOTH
A good tack cloth is essential to keeping dust and dirt from getting under your paint. tack cloths work by causing the dust, dirt, and wood particles to stick to the cloth while it is wiped over the surface of the material being cleaned. a tack cloth is sticky enough to pick up the dust, but not so sticky as to leave behind a residue on the surface being prepared for paint.
