In this issue...Every year we as a magazine staff slant an editorial issue a certain way. For instance, this month's main focus is paint and body, and the somewhat new Nissan Titan. I say somewhat new because, as you know, the Nissan Titan arrived on the light truck scene in 2004 and has been seen driving down the road by pretty much all of us. However, the Titan was just slightly slower to be accepted by the automotive aftermarket...until now.
Close the pages of the magazine in your hands and check out what I am referring to. The cover image of Chassis by Aaron's ultimate, cool Titan is a sort of flip-flop, if you will. If you were to get down ultra-low and check out how this thing lays out on 26-inch wheels and tires without a body drop, you'd simply have to be amazed at the mean profile. Then flip the vehicle around and check out the other side. Still with me? The vehicle is completely painted a different color and almost looks as if one side of the truck is missing its other half. Yes, the aftermarket is now alive and well when it comes to Nissan Titans. There seems to be a plethora of both lifted and lowered suspension components as well as engine modifications. In fact, this weekend I am off to Stillen (Steve Millen Sportparts) in Costa Mesa, California, for an open house of sorts catering exclusively to Nissan Titans. I would certainly hope and expect to see some crazy sort of Titan there. I will report on the outcome in a future issue, so be sure to check back if you are a Nissan Titan fan.
Also within this issue, we feature our annual paint and body section. Highlighted is what it takes to paint a NexTel Series race truck. While the paint scheme on this truck is probably not for everyone, it does show what it takes to actually paint a truck from start to finish using quality materials. Our resident Senior Technical Editor, Bob Ryder, spent the better part of a week following around the talented Russ Gerner of Paint Masters in Las Vegas, NV. His skills are simply astounding. In addition, Mark Halvorsen compiled a paint and body parts buyer's guide that will be an invaluable source for all of our readers currently working on some sort of truck project. So for now, please enjoy the fruits of our last 28 days' worth of labor, and don't forget to check back next issue. It promises even more exciting things, as it is our annual wheel and tire issue.
