Vol. 29 No. 5 May 2003
When I started working for Truckin, there was a buzz going around about the possibility of a redesign. I had no idea what was going on because I was the new guy. Hell, I still am the new guy almost two years later. But after being here for a little while, that buzz turned into a rumble and then that rumble turned into a full-fledged roar. Editor Dan Ward had been begging for a redesign for years and our parent company finally gave us the thumbs up. We tore down every page and started from scratch. We assessed what people liked and didn’t like, and we even did studies on what appealed to the human eye.
Part of the redesign involved how we take our photos. We had to change our strategy for every photo shoot. In a little less than a week, I will be flying to a foreign country to shoot a cover truck from a helicopter. That is one thing that I can say I have never done before and I believe is a first for the magazine. Needless to say, this redesign is for the better.
This is the second issue of the new Truckin. I was extremely excited to work on revamping the whole magazine and am excited to see what you think. Let me know if you like it, don’t like it, or don’t give a rat’s ass. Send me an email and let me know, email@example.com.
