In Issue 6 of 2011, we showed you the very detailed and straightforward way to fabricate a three-link rear suspension with coilovers. Our 2010 Suzuki Equator, aka Drift King, was our test mule for the drifting setup. In the year the three-link has been in place, we’ve racked up some 18,000 worry-free miles on the midsize machine, with many of those miles coming sideways in drift fashion. During a recent off-road photo shoot in which the ’Zuki was our mode of transportation, we may have had too much sideways fun as we compressed the rear suspension in a huge dip and then immediately smacked a rut, which sent the bed into a blackhole of compression and rebound. Combine that with the lateral movement of the drift, and we now have a coilover more resembling a question mark. It was fun acting like Ken Block while it lasted.
