This month’s cover truck was dedicated to the loving memory of Mike Czepak’s father. Czepak understood and appreciated why his dad helped him buy the truck some 15 years ago—it kept him out of trouble, helped him learn what hard work and saving money was like, and it created a symbol of a father’s love for his son. With Father’s Day coming up in a few weeks, it got me thinking about being a dad.

My son is 18 months old (at the time of this writing) and I love him more than he’ll ever understand. My wife is pregnant with boy number two, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome another little man into this world. Some of my best memories growing up were spent with my dad and grandpa. Handing down my first truck, and teaching me how to work on it, my dad helped me understand how much fun a truck can be. Many of us have our fathers to thank for getting us into the hobby of customizing trucks, so let’s not forget to thank them on Father’s Day. No one will have the lasting impact on you like a father.
