Hanging out with some buddies the other day, one of them remarked that going out to the desert and shooting his guns was like his kids going to Chuck E. Cheese’s. It was his opportunity to let loose, go crazy, and have a great time. That got me thinking of what my “big kid” time was. Flooding my mind instantly, I remarked THROWDOWN was my ultimate great time because I could go fast, push my truck to its limits, meet new people, and do it all legally. Everyone agreed that you just can’t beat when your passion creates adrenaline. Having my wife ride shotgun as I blasted Project Novakane through the slalom and down the quarter-mile drag was something we’ll always remember, and it’s something I wish everyone who likes to go fast could enjoy at least once.
In this month’s issue, we showcase our West Coast THROWDOWN presented by Airaid with Nitto Tire being the official tire. It was an absolute blast, as we had the fastest trucks to date come out and race, We also witnessed the most carnage to date with several trucks leaving our track on trailers. Check out the full story on page 64, and to see videos of each truck, go to truckinweb.com. If you couldn’t make it out to our West Coast event but you think your truck has what it takes to win, I have good news for you. Over the weekend of September 7-9, we’ll be out at Holley’s LS Fest in Bowling Green, Kentucky, where you can compete in our East Coast THROWDOWN presented by Airaid. It’s one of our favorite weekends of the year, and if you have the need for speed, you won’t want to miss it. For more info, check out truckinweb.com and www.holley.com/lsfest. If you live in the Midwest, we have another opportunity for you to race your truck around a coned course. We’re heading to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the 4Wheel Jamboree on September 14-16 where we’ll have a large autocross course for you to race around. Prizes will be awarded for the fastest times, and we can’t think of another event where you can check out monster trucks, hardcore off-road rigs, and also race your performance truck. To get more info and register for the show, go to familyevents.com. We hope to see you there.
