My earliest memories of trucks include riding in the bed of my parents 1975 K10 pickup, taking a load of trash to the dump and sitting in my dad's lap at the age of 8 learning how to drive the back roads by my house. Later, after buying my first truck, came the late nights drinking on the tailgate or loading up as many buddies as possible in my extra cab Toyota to go chase some tail. But the common denominator in all these was the trucks.
Now as an adult, with my first son on the way, I think about the memories that he will have. I hope that when he grows up he will have fond memories of me teaching him to drive or even buying his first truck. Trucks have been and will always be a bonding experience. No matter what happens, I will always be a pickup man. What are your favorite truck memories? Send them over to firstname.lastname@example.org.
