In the last five months, I have driven my Ram truck for maybe three weeks. The rest of the time it has been at different companies while they prototype parts for it. In that time, I have been driving cars. The most recent being a 2008 Ford Focus. It has been a long time since I have driven anything smaller than a full-size truck on a regular basis, and I have to say that I can’t stand it. I took for granted having four massive doors to load and unload items. It was nice being able to haul 2x4s, engines, rearends, and party supplies in my 5-foot, 7-inch bed. But probably the worst thing is not having a 5.7L Hemi under the hood, ready to blast past traffic at the drop of my right foot.

I can say without a doubt that I belong in a truck. When I hear car guys whine about how big trucks are or how much gas they use, I just imagine hooking up a chain to their puny little compact car and dragging it around like a 3-year-old with a new puppy on a leash. Whether you like your trucks up in the air on 40s or laid out on the asphalt, tucking 24s, you can agree that having a truck is a pleasure. I guess what I am saying is that I miss the ol’ girl. When I get her back, I am going to fill her up, give her a bath, and cruise until my gas light comes on.
