As an active-duty sailor in the United States Navy, Roy Wragth was a welcomed addition to our performance truck shootout. With great friends who actually wrenched on the truck while he was serving overseas, he showed up to THROWDOWN after just wrapping up a fresh tune six hours prior. The small 4.8L made a ton of power, but was having a hard time putting it to the ground in each of the events. Like many turbo cars and trucks, once that surge of boost hits, sometimes all you can do is hold on and hope for the best. Roy was also at a disadvantage because he had the largest truck at the event. Weighing the most and having the longest wheelbase made the speed stop and road course a genuine challenge. Despite the 8th Place finish, Roy admitted he had a blast and enjoyed tossing his truck around the track. We’re glad we could take his mind off of the daily grind of defending our freedoms. Roy, you have our respect sir.
