California's central valley isn't as far north from the So Cal coast as people think. Driving there doesn't take a whole day -- 4 hours max if you average 10-over-the-speed limit (most cops wouldn't pull you over for that). And the terrain isn't bad at all. Picturesque farmland and fields line the highway, and when you reach Visalia, California for Danger Zone 2014, you'll know you've reached the right place.
Mooney Grove Park gets packed with custom trucks new and old, jacked up and low. Being that Danger Zone is only a one-day show, the crowd is usually pretty thick and the field is lined with rows of modified trucks and cars of all kinds. It's safe to estimate that close to 1,000 registered show cars/trucks came out to soak up the sun this year. Danger Zone is worth the trip if you've never ventured out for it before. It's easy to get to no matter where you're coming from.
