On March 8-9, the Forbidden Fantasy car and truck club put on its 6th annual Show 'n' Shine at the Lake Perris Fairgrounds in Perris, California. Let us start off by saying this show should be considered one of the premier events in SoCal. There were literally thousands of trucks and SUVs for tens of thousands of spectators to ogle over.
This year, the club hired more cooperative private security to man the event (there was a problem with the overzealous police force last year). Another important addition to the show was the Saturday afternoon roll-in. Vendors and show participants were given the option of setting up from noon to 5 p.m. the day before the show to help combat the massive bottleneck that occurred at the entrance the previous year. Did it work? Well, we rolled in at about 8 a.m. and were parked in the show in less than five minutes.
As always, the Forbidden show was packed with quality rides, many of them never seen before, at least by us. Good vibes were provided by a live DJ and eight bands played on the main stage throughout the day. Of course, there was the requisite bikini contest, and after a long day of signing posters and magazine covers all day, the stage was filled with hotties from all over the Southland.
More than 150 vehicle trophies were given out, and from what we could tell, most were happy with the judging. There's no way we could list all of the sponsors and vendors present, but a few of the ones we visited were MIC, BD Motorsports, Autoi, L&G's Custom Truck Shop, Stitchcraft, The Hack Shack, Black Flys, Devious Customs, Grant Kustoms, IF Customs, Ludikrs Kustomz, and Bio Kustomz. All in all, this is one of the better shows we attend each year, and hopefully, the quality of rides we saw will set the tone of things to come for the rest of the show season.
