Brothers, America's number one source for '47-'72 Chevrolet and GMC Truck Parts for classics and customs, recently hosted its 5th Annual Show 'n' Shine for early model '47-'72 Chevrolet GMC trucks. The one-day extravaganza was held at Featherly Park in Anaheim, California; its inviting shade and cool summer breezes made for a comfortable July summer day full of food, folks, and fun -- and trucks. Every year the show gets bigger, with this year's blast breaking participant and spectator records with more than 300 trucks and 2,000-plus spectators.
As we entered the park and rolled through its picturesque setting, early morning participants were arriving, registering, and staking out their premier location for the day. Location is very important during show competition. Vendors were erecting their booths and displaying their products for attendees, allowing them to get a hands-on experience and ask questions to aftermarket experts.
While the day activities unfolded, there was plenty to see and do for everyone. A large variety of '47-'72 Chevrolet and GMC trucks were on display for everyone to admire. Besides the obvious stroll through the shady park to view the endless row of trucks, show-goers were entertained by The Hot Rod Trio, a three-piece, high-octane rockabilly band, keeping everyone rockin' all day.
The day's nutrition was handled by Ray's Ribs, who served up some delicious finger-licking-good ribs, tri-tip, and chicken that was guaranteed to leave a stain on your shirt. Throughout the day, raffle ticket numbers were announced and many lucky winners went home with some unique prizes. A healthy check was written to the Susan G. Comen Breast Cancer Foundation. This year's Brothers Show 'n' Shine can be watched on video for all to see. For more information, check out the Brothers Web site, at www.brotherstrucks.com.
Two brothers, Jim and Steve Flanders, spent their youth building early model custom truck rods. The brothers would discover a potential carcass decaying in a local salvage yard, haul it home, and transform it into a show-worthy ride for a minimal cost. They acquired a taste for GM products, no Blue Oval or Mopar for these guys. Deciding to pursue a livelihood doing what they enjoy, they opened their first shop in 1995, specializing in early model '47-'72 Chevrolet and GMC trucks parts. They also fabricated and custom built to suit their customers.
The business had its early growing pains, but after they were discovered, the business exploded. Noticing the popularity of these trucks, the brothers decided to host the Brothers Annual Chevy and GMC Truck Show, and it was a huge success. Recently, they moved shop to a much larger showroom and immaculate facility in Corona, California. Brothers is one of the largest one-stop shops in the country. The Brothers' knowledgeable staff, Jim, Steve, John, Dale, J.C. Kerry, Lisa, and Jenny, will make you feel right at home.
