Renowned in the Midwest for its great trucks, fun in the sun, and festivities all weekend long, the 10th Annual Falken Tire Indy Truck Bash was as much fun as it was packed with people, and packed it was. With more than 2,800 participants and 13,000 spectators, the Indy Bash is one of the largest shows in the country.
Held at the great Indy Raceway Park, custom trucks and imports began filling up the parking lot early Friday morning. By Saturday afternoon, the entire Raceway Park was filled with some of the cleanest jaw-dropping trucks we have seen this show season.
Adding to the weekend's festivities was the ability to put up or shut up at one of the nicest drag strips in the nation. Saturday and Sunday saw dozens upon dozens of truck owners running the Christmas tree down and tearing through the traps at blazing speeds.
The Indy Bash also included great vendor support from such companies as Falken Tire, Godfather Customs, AEM, Flowmaster, and Summit. Besides shopping for all the new parts, participants and spectators enjoyed a huge burnout contest, a foam party, and a trophy presentation that awarded all the worthy truck owners.
Attending so many shows a year, it was a pleasure dealing with the Special Events staff, since they were very courteous, professional, and always willing to donate water to save a certain Truckin' editor from heat exhaustion. Arriving back in Southern California with numerous rolls of film and sunburnt feet, we can't wait till next year for a return visit to the heart of custom truck country.
