On the morning of February 20, the city of Tempe, Arizona, was alive with wild custom trucks dragging frame and body into the Bring the Noize show thrown by the Phoenix chapter of the Art of Noize custom truck club. By 7 a.m., the gates of the Kiwanis Park in Tempe were jammed with rim-tucking, rocker-resting haulers kicking off this must-attend winter event. The morning hours were chaotic as the Art of Noize staff worked steadily to get participants registered, classed, and parked for the festivities. Once enthusiasts got situated, it was non-stop cleaning as the smell of chrome and aluminum polish, wax, and tire dressing filled the air. Bring the Noize packed a punch with the diversity of custom vehicles in attendance. With everything from a body-dropped, Volkswagen-powered Toyota mini-truck that clinched Best of Show, to a custom Expedition laying body and stuffing big billet wheels, Bring the Noize had custom truck eye candy for all types of enthusiasts. For those who wished to spend a little coin at the show, a few vendors were on hand with a vast assortment of custom truck gear. As the afternoon hours approached, and the show points were tallied, the Art of Noize staff tossed First-Third Place statues into the hands of the deserving winners. Bring the Noize 2005 was a smash hit, and the Art of Noize staff is already working on plans to make it an annual event. For information on the '06 event, go to www.artofnoize.com.
