Click here for more pics and coverage!May 14 and 15 marked the weekend the South rose again. Stuffing the Washington County Convention Center grounds, more than 800 vehicles showed up to show it off, all for the benefit of the Mississippi Firefighters' Burn Center. This year's Showfest was the 10th anniversary of the show, which shows no signs of hitting the brakes.
Primedia made a larger-than-normal presence as we rolled into this show with Dan Ward's S-10 "Vindication," Travis Noack's C10 "Red Rocker," and Mini Truckin' magazine's "Desert Dragger." For an accurate depiction of what you missed, Truckin' magazine, Sport Truck magazine, and Mini Truckin' magazine were out in full force as we rolled the show and came away with multiple features and cover trucks.
 | There is nothing like a dualie dumped hard on 24-inch big-rig wheels. The sinister look of the all-black is definitely doing it for us. | |
When the sun went down on Highway 82, the popular road became the main drag location. With traffic at near gridlock levels (normal for us here in Los Angeles), it was the place to be and be seen. If it was lifted, lowered, chopped, dragged, or 'bagged, it was there. Friday and Saturday night featured some of the finest rides and a few under-construction trucks that went home needing, well...more construction after body parts and suspension parts were hammered mercilessly on the pavement. Most of the tire shops in the area probably had an influx of business with all the tires that were destroyed doing burnouts.

Greenville's Showfest is one of the best shows period, and Assorted had its hands full judging all the prime rigs. In the end, Truckin's pick of the show, Todd Boatright's super-slick, real-flamed '55 Chevy truck, became the Best of Show Fullsize, which just goes to show we know how to pick 'em.
