November in Phoenix is the perfect time for staging a car show: blue skies, temperatures in the mid 70s, and plenty of sun. Add a venue that works well for a great show like what the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association is known for, and the picture is complete. We were a part of this year's event, and while the weather was great on Saturday, Sunday was an entirely different day. The people got a little bit wet from some mild rainfall, but not wet enough to diminish any of their enthusiasm. The location was West World, a large grass area similar to a football field but about four times bigger; it also included a large blacktop area with one of the biggest tents we've ever seen. Goodguys used it to house a large portion of vendors and an indoor vehicle display, a model car contest, and several other displays. Next to the tent were more vendors, a car auction, and a car display with the bulk of show vehicles parked on a large recessed grass.
A Goodguys show is not to be missed. It is made up of many great-looking street rods, custom cars, and early trucks. We found many nice early trucks mixed in with the cars at the event. There were many more trucks attending than we could show here, so we selected a good mix of what came out to the desert this time.
