Who knew that Independence, Ohio, would be a truck magnet? It's certainly a moisture magnet, or, rather, a sponge soaking up water vapor from Lake Erie and squeezing it out as cloudbursts and humidity. But, then, most truck shows in the eastern United States are like that during the summer.
None the less, enthusiasts made their way to the Stylin' Concepts' truck show on Sunday, July 17. The show was a cozy affair. It was one of two that the company planned for the summer. About 70 trucks and countless friends gathered from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to share their love for pals and pickups. Attendees browsed through Stylin's retail store for specially discounted goodies, checked out the demos at the vendor booths set up in the company's warehouse, and got to watch marketing dude Mike Bucca install one of Stylin's lowering kits in the company shop. Others had the opportunity to get their trucks shot in Stylin's photo studio-a cool perk that lets truck enthusiasts walk away from the show with slick snaps. Food, music, giveaways, and awards rounded out Stylin's summertime 'stravaganza.
The next Stylin' Concepts show is at the same place and time on Sept. 18. This show isn't known as a high-powered pickup pow-wow with a plethora of high-dollar automotive players. But it doesn't have to be. What counts at a show like this is that people have fun showing off their trucks-and they did.
