Time For Show. Time For Go.
As you lay your hands on this issue you can almost feel Spring right around the corner. With the onslaught of Spring comes the rains, and the winter thaw, and more rain, and garage doors opening up to new and varied projects. Show time is almost upon us all and that means that you better be hustling to finish getting all the details together so your rig can roll. I know I am trying to pull it together right now, so none of you are alone. For all those that are done already...quite simply...I hate you.
You readers who have been keeping track of the "Happenings" section of our magazine have surely been writing down the shows that you will be attending in your area. What I am offering is a chance to do something outside your area. For some of you it will be way out of your area, but that's where the funny road trip stories stem from. Last year we got a group from Canada that literally drove out on a whim. They couldn't get a hotel, so they slept in their Cavalier. Sucks? Maybe. I think: more like a good story. According to them it was trucks, boats, and babes they would never see anywhere near home. Let's not forget the Hard Luck recipients. They were on their excursion from Minnesota, and only a couple hours from home they hit a patch of ice and spun the dualie and the trailer with the show truck on it, messing up all three in the process. So close to home it could have been quittersville and no one would have thought any less of them, yet they decided to trudge on and were the talk of the show. Sucks? Maybe. I think it sounds like a good time. A story for life.
We are headed for the sunny shores and the wildest Spring Break anywhere around. Pencil in the weekend of March 17, 18, and 19, 2006, for the Truckin' Spring Break Nationals, to be held at beautiful Lake Havasu in picturesque Lake Havasu City, Arizona. We guarantee joining in the fun couldn't possibly disappoint you. The temperature is nice, trucks good, boats hot, and the girls are downright steamy. Nestled on the Colorado River and riding the border of California and Arizona, Lake Havasu City, Arizona, offers a desert oasis like no other. So get out of your comfort zone and go for it! Make your way to a show that is nowhere near you and hopefully, maybe, you too will have a road trip story for life.
