Rain is every show promoter's nightmare. That's what Gary Meadors has been having during much of this year's '06 Goodguys show season. Unfortunately, a number of Goodguys events have been dampened by Mother Nature. Rain or shine, the shows must go on.
Our attendance at this year's Goodguys show at Indianapolis was an umbrella and poncho affair. Midwest folks are pretty durable when it comes to dealing with undesirable weather like thunderstorms and tornadoes during this time of year. They told me: "Heck, it's only water." Unfortunately, the show was more wet than wild.
The event was wet from the get-go, with rain beginning off and on when we arrived on Friday. Saturday morning was sunny, allowing us to break out our camera gear and get some dry "show and go" coverage. But Saturday afternoon, the gray skies opened up, dropping rain for the remainder of the weekend. It was a washout unfortunately, eliminating any features from the show.
