2007 Custom Truck Show - Slamboree

Same Show, Different Venue

Last year's Slamboree in Norman, Oklahoma, was memorable for several reasons. It was the first show I had attended in Oklahoma, so it was an entirely new batch of trucks and attendees, and it was the first show I'd been to where I'd been accused of spying on a Division I football team's practice. People in Oklahoma take their football seriously.

This year, the show moved from the Lloyd Nobel Center, which neighbors the Sooner practice field, to the cooler climate of the Cleveland County Fairgrounds across town. Great weather, a great turnout, and some never-before-seen trucks made this year's show a big success for Pleasures Trucks and Compacts, who put the show together to benefit the American Diabetes Association.

Hill's Hot Rods brought out their gorgeous F-100. It took home Best of Show.

There weren't too many Blue Ovals at the show, but this Lightning was holding it's own among the Bow Ties.

The show was filled with regular cab Chevy trucks, both '88-'98 and '99-'06 body styles were well represented.
