The Goodguys '07 15th Annual Lone Star Nationals was held at the Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) in Fort Worth, Texas. The three-day extravaganza attracted more than 2,000 pre-'72 custom rods and trucks from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, and Louisiana. The Texas Motor Speedway 11/2-mile tri-oval, hosts NASCAR Busch Series, Craftsman Trucks, Nextel Cup, and the Indy Racing League (IRL).
The Richard Petty Racing Experience is also garaged at TMS. During the three-day show, you could ride along with a professional racecar driver or instructor, and experience the accelerating and lateral Gs at speeds as fast as 165 miles per hour! Or, you could drive as many as 80 laps, after you slid behind the steering wheel and buckled into a NASCAR-style race car, powered by a 358ci V-8 that produces 600 horsepower. Also on Saturday, show participants could cruise their own rides around the 11/2-mile tri-oval.
The '07 Goodguys Lone Star Nationals was definitely a great success. A goodtime was had by all.
