This road trip started in sunny Southern California, and made its way through hours of one-lane desert highways (patrolled desert highways, as a sidenote), and into Badwater, a basin in Death Valley that is notorious for being the lowest point in North America with an elevation of 282 feet below sea level. Here, we found ourselves amazingly alone, without cell phone reception, hot, and fascinated by the vast nothingness and serenity of Death Valley. This made for majestic photos and plenty of running-shot opportunities. That night, we found ourselves in Stovepipe Wells, located in the northern part of Death Valley, where food, water, and a bed welcomed us after a full day of driving, rock throwing, and photo shoots.

Radio? Who cares. Water? Well maybe. Spare tire in the middle of the desert? Priceless.
