Dropping the truck off at Bern's Restoration in Santa Maria, California, the truck lost its tailgate handle but did receive a new Wings West front bumper with custom mesh inserts, a Gaylord's lid, Street Scene turn signal mirrors, and rear roll pan. Accessories in place, the F-150 entered the spray booth and underwent a total exterior makeover. After backing the truck out of the booth, the Ford truck was DuPont Whipple Orange and Lexus Silver with a Nissan-Blue flame separating the two primary colors. Smoked taillights add to the performance look, and with the truck at Bern's, the interior was spiced up as well.

Removing the center dash pieces, the door panel trim, and even the plastics under the hood, Bern's painted each piece Whipple Orange. Next up, the Whipple team delivered the truck to Automotive Entertainment in Los Angeles for some serious audio hardware. A frenched Rosen head unit with a Whipple trim ring controls MB Quart mids and highs powered by Rockford Fosgate amps blasting tunes over the low rumble of 445 hp. For added thump, Rockford Fosgate subs were mounted underneath the rear seat, which provide cinema-quality bass for the Rosen DVD player and monitors.

Classic Soft Trim in Commerce, California, finished off the performance F-150 with an interior fit for a king. Silver and black carbon leather with orange piping adorns the seats, and a black-suede headliner, supplied by Sequoia Upholstery, completes the look. Providing proper representation of the truck, Whipple's logo, with flames sweeping from side to side, was stitched into the headrests. Trenz billet flamed pedals keep braking and accelerating a joy and add extra points for styling cues.

Presenting the truck before our lenses allowed us an opportunity to see the hard work that went into building this show truck. A show truck that is not to be confused for all show and no go, because when need be, this F-150 will pin you in your seat and leave you wondering if Ford did in fact build a super truck.
