No shortcuts here. Every item on the custom-truck completion list was checked-off with authority while building this slick example of one man's drive and determination. From the smoothed and painted frame, to the completely powdercoated suspension, Raymond Sanchez of Mendota, California, did not mess around when he took over the pink slip of the family '92 Chevy C1500.
Beginning with the suspension, KRZ Customs in Fresno, California, handled the Slam Specialties airbags up front and the KRZ four-link with 'bags in the rear. But even with 20x8-1/2-inch Lexani Krystal wheels wrapped in Yokohama tires, Raymond still wasn't content. After the Chevy was dumped, Raymond and his buddies took it upon themselves to cut up the floor for a 3-inch body drop. Other body mods include shaved handles, an Escalade front clip, an '04 GMC Sierra bumper, and a Sir Michaels roll pan. Manuel Ramirez of Ramirez Custom Body and Paint in Kerman, California, laid down the two-tone PPG Twilight Blue Pearl and Lemon Lime Yellow paint with killer pearl tribal flames. Being the shop supervisor of Merced, California's Line-X has its advantages, so Raymond applied the color-matching, protective coating to the entire bed.
Inside the flamed doors resides a fully covered, light-gray tweed interior by Hatcher's Upholstery in Clovis, California. Gray with purple upholstered flames in the seats, headliner, and door panels and painted flames on the yellow dash create a whole new look for the truck. Billet accessories from Empire Motorsports add the necessary bling, and the Colorado Custom Wild Horse steering wheel keeps navigating the custom rig easy. Raymond also added a kickin' audio system with a Sony head unit, JL Audio mids, and two 12-inch JL Audio subs under the rear seat that draw their power from two 1,000-watt JL Audio amps. Before the interior was put back together, Raymond applied Line-X to every surface of the cab.
Under the Caddy hood lies a 350ci small-block prepped with plenty of paint, Billet Specialties dress-up, and extra chrome for added good looks. For more ponies, Raymond installed a Stage II Hypertech chip, a Flowmaster exhaust, an MSD distributor, an MSD coil, and Taylor plug wires. A shaved firewall and some chromed suspension components round out the underhood customization.
