Exiting the subtle Expedition, Casey Scranton may go unnoticed at a full-blown custom truck show, but he would, however, fit right in at a downtown Hollywood movie premier. With half a dozen customs appearing in Truckin', Casey is no stranger to building over the top trucks and SUVs, but when it came time to create his latest truck, he opted for the less-is-more theory.
Using KW Suspension coilovers, the full-size Expedition was gently lowered two inches closer to earth. Replacing the stock wheels are 22-inch billet pieces from Devious Wheels with Toyo Proxes tires measuring 305/40R22 on each hoop. As president of CGS Motorsports, Casey knows how to make more power, and after bolting on a CGS Motorsport air intake system and CGS 3-inch after-cat system, the new 5.4L V-8 was rumbling down the freeway.
Inside Casey's luxurious Ford are several key pieces to complete customization. Jamie Fifleid installed the two Kicker amps pushing the mids and highs, and subs in the rear fiberglass enclosure. Audiovox navigation and DVD player keep the driver and passengers entertained, and the dash was customized by myautoextras.com using a black wood kit. Roadwire seat covers provide better looks, and 7-inch monitors in the headrests were installed over at Radi's Custom Upholstery in Gardena, California. Radi's also added the suede headliner and recovered the center console lids to match the two-tone seats. House of Tints in Tustin, California, tinted the windows and then Casey installed the huge Webasto Panoramic sunroof.
Responsible for the paint and bodywork are Ricardo Flores and Jerry Burns. The two added EGR fender flairs, Muth signal mirrors, fender inserts, and the Precision billet grilles. DuPont Candy Raspberry covers the stock black; and the two-tone is as effective at garnering attention as it is classy.
Simple additions and thorough planning helped Casey win Ford's "Product Excellence Award" at the '05 SEMA show. An award well deserved whether going to the shows or Hollywood.
