Once at the lake, the 28-foot Eliminator Daytona ICC Cat gets rolled off into the water. Stem to stern, this boat was created for high performance. With the gel completely engulfed in flames, this Daytona certainly looks the part. Creating the go-fast portion are dual Mercury Racing HP525s that by themselves are no slouch in the horsepower department, but Bill sought more. Whipple Superchargers was tapped for a pair of its superchargers and at full boost the dual 502ci V-8s really sing. Bravo XR drives attempt to handle the extra loads, and lab-finished Mercury four-blade 36-inch props twist the H2O and throw the big Eliminator across the water. The full adornment of Livorsi controls and gauges monitors everything the boat has to offer. As if the song of whining blowers and screaming V-8s isn't enough, the Eliminator has its share of audio equipment. Firing off the signals is a Rockford Fosgate head unit attached to two JL Audio amplifiers. A 1500/4 rocks the four pairs of 6-1/2-inch Rockford full-range speakers strewn about the cabin and cockpit, with lows booming from a 3000/1 and four 12-inch Rockford Power Series subwoofers below deck. Extreme Audio flamed billet grilles highlight and protect everything but the subwoofers. Power for the whole system is from dual Chuy's 300-amp alternators, and four Odyssey and two Interstate batteries.
Once at the lake, Bill and his wife, Janelle, can park the diesel-guzzling Excursion and roll in style with their E-Z-Go six-passenger golf cart. Lifted some 16 inches and riding on coilover shocks, this bad cruiser rolls with ease thanks to the Honda 24hp engine upgrade. The lift clears 12-inch ITP wheels and 25-inch Mud Gear tires. Of course, the cart wouldn't be complete without the requisite matching Hank-O flames and orange front bumper and suspension. As they did for the truck and boat, Breaker Mobile Electronics in Oxnard, California, installed a heap of audio gear on the E-Z-Go. Alpine sets the stage, JL powers up the sound, and Alpine screams it out. Two Alpine 10-inch subwoofers, two Alpine 6x9s, and two Alpine 5-1/4-inch full range speakers belt out whatever Bill and Janelle want to hear while they ride around. KC Hilites make night vision a breeze, and Iron Cross taillights add some flair to their function. A complete carbon-fiber dash and billet shifter, pedals, and rearview mirror are hard to miss when the duo rolls by.
Inspiring those who may be lacking in motivation, Bill created something from nothing and showed that perseverance prevails. In Bill's own words: "I started working for minimum wage and worked my way up to owning my own business. It took 12 years, but I did it and along the way I found people that I admired and could look up to." Bill would like to thank the whole crew at Eliminator for their dedication to excellence, including Bob, Brandi, Koby, Tony, Kenny, Stephanie, and Jim. Joe Daddario has been a large influence in Bill's life and gets the most credit for his trip through the open door. Of course, Janelle can't be left out. Nor can Breaker Mobile Electronics, Atlas and Deaver springs, Hank-O, and the crew at Great American Auto Body. Be inspired and go get yours.
