Custom 2005 Ford F150 Truck - Slope Patrol

While cruising the strip in Las Vegas on a business trip, we noticed one particular truck that stood out among the sea of sport cars and taxis. This particular truck had a clean two-tone paint scheme, a nice-sized lift, and had a substantial rumble exiting the exhaust. Tracking down the rig, the owner exited and it was a buddy of ours, Ernie Vole of Mundelein, Illinois, who was featured two years ago with a wazoo-lifted Chevy. If Ernie was involved, we knew the truck was dialed in and we couldn't wait to set up a feature shoot.

Ernie's latest project is a 2005 Ford F-150 built for the SEMA show. Subtle body mods, a supercharged V-8, and a great-looking interior proved that he definitely knows how to put together a great combination of aftermarket perfection. Starting with an altitude adjustment, Fabtech Motorsports bolted on its newest Ford 6-inch lift using its Dirt Logic 2.5 coilover system. Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ radials, sized 35x13.5R18, fill the fender gap and are firmly mounted on 18x10-inch Weld Racing 809 Sand Storm forged wheels with green-painted Pro Crusher rings.

Powering the larger wheels over any terrain the 6-inch lift can accommodate is a 5.4L V-8 equipped with a polished and intercooled Procharger supercharger. With a two-core intercooler chilling the 9 psi of boost, the 5.4L now pumps out 500 hp, and with a Corsa 3-inch exhaust bolted up, the Ford has a nice hot-rod rumble. An ORU differential cover wraps up the performance mods. Keeping with the custom mindset, larger fiberglass fenders were added, a Street Scene Equipment Speed Grille was installed, a hood scoop was added, and then the truck was delivered to M&B Enterprises in Schuamburg, Illinois. While at M&B, the Ford received a two-tone paint scheme using DuPont Lime Time Green, Black, Blue, and Silver. With the paint dried, a bevy of Tekstyle accessories were added, including front Back Country sport bar with Light Force lights, polished stainless steel nerf bars, and a custom snowboard rack.

Inside the SuperCrew, the interior also received some much-needed attention. Corbeau racing seats replace the front seats and the rear bench seat. A fiberglass center console houses two JL Audio 8-inch subs and was painted Lime Time Green to match the exterior, as were the dash panels. Completing the interior package is a fully polished stainless steel rollbar that incorporates the Corbeau racing harnesses.

Built in a quick six weeks, the Slope Patrol is a fine archetype of how good a truck can look with well-executed bolt-ons and talented guys behind the wrenches.
