Isn't it great when our girlfriends and wives understand our love of custom trucks? Yeah, we think so, too. However, strange things tend to happen after spending years riding shotgun, as our ladies get tired of riding. Once they get bitten by the bug, they too want to drive--and not just our trucks, but trucks of their own. This great occurrence happened to Troy Carbo, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, when his wife Jeanne got tired of sitting next to him in his '65 Impala. One day, at a local car and truck show, she spotted this '99 Silverado. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Jeanne was determined to own a custom truck and this standard cab was perfect for her to cruise around in. The previous owner, John Pena, had actually set the truck up pretty much the way it stands now. Jeanne did admit she had planned on making the truck her own, but John handled much of the truck's current state. Chaotic Rods and Customs in Tomball, Texas, performed the majority of work on the truck including: C-notching the rear frame, adding front Slam Specialties' airbags, running the copper airline for nitrogen, painting several suspension pieces, and installing the 16-gallon fuel cell. Now calling the Silverado home are 20-inch Centerline Stingrays with Wanli 255/35R20 tires protecting the billet hoops.

With the suspension handled, Chaotic had time to massage the body on the '99 Chevy. First to be shaved were the door handles, followed by the tailgate handle, gas door, third brakelight, and finally, both taillights. New, smaller lights were frenched into the corners, while billet swan-style side mirrors were installed, and a large one-piece front bumper was added. With the body work completed, the crew at Chaotic teamed with Diego Ramon to apply the DuPont Blue base color, along with DuPont Candy Planet Green, and House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl graphics. Then, Pat Reid pinstriped the Chevy to give the graphics the needed extra depth.
Izzy's Custom Upholstery of Humble, Texas, cut-down, reshaped, and wrapped the stock seats in blue and black vinyl with orange stitching. Looking up at the headliner reveals a nice, black-vinyl unit replacing the stock piece along with a billet steering wheel, billet rearview mirror, and a smoothed and painted dash. An Eclipse head unit sends signals to Rockford Fosgate amps, which power two 10-inch Rockford Fosgate subs in the custom fiberglass center console that was also painted to match. For video fun, an Xbox was installed with a Pioneer monitor to play games or watch movies. The factory 4.3L V-6 was helped by a throttle-body spacer, air intake, and performance muffler. Now, arriving in style is easy and more fun for Jeanne with her name on the pink slip. She told us to be on the lookout, as this truck will be undergoing some major changes to have a style that is all her own.
