Inside of the Flexpedition, gray and black colors retain the Expedition's innate class, punctuated by the red body-color, which accents the doors and sills, instrument cluster, steering wheel, and center console. The seats are lined with perforated black leather and are accented by red stitching and an FMF logo. A black-suede headliner and black carpet replaced the factory accoutrements. The Alpine IVA-W200 in-dash DVD player with 6-1/2-inch screen heads up a sound and video system, which are comprised of a JL Audio 10-inch 10W6 subwoofer and JL Audio Evolution XR-570 mid- and low-frequency drivers in the doors and in the rear liftgate. A custom connector for an MP3 player interfaces an iPod, or similar device, to the system, while touchscreen headrest monitors gleam video entertainment. Valanca expertly handled the mods on this interior.
Like what you see? The idea behind the Flexpedition was to offer buyers a ready-made, but limited-edition, custom that can be ordered from the local car dealer. The result is a prototype for a series of 500 customized Expeditions that can be purchased at a Ford dealer near you.
