Belltech unveiled its latest suspension system for the '07 Avalanche at the 2006 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. While we all like to see just what we're getting when we buy aftermarket suspension kits, a static display of parts can only convey so much. To really show consumers the potential for its new suspension, Belltech built a custom truck with all of the details we like to see.
Starting with a factory-fresh '07 Avalanche, Belltech first added its new suspension, which consists of 2-inch drop spindles and dropped coils in both the front and back. The result is a 4/4 drop that adds on-road handling along with an improved look. The new stance was emphasized with 22-inch Boyd Coddington F09 multi-piece forged wheels and 305/40/22 Goodyear Fortera SL tires. Behind the rolling stock are huge Brembo rotors and six-piston calipers that wouldn't stand a chance of clearing most factory wheels.
Up front, Davinci Designs' slotted billet grilles filled the grille shell, a Keystone twin-scoop hood, and the HPA Motorsports front air dam. Underneath the Keystone hood lies a 5.3L V-8 that keeps its factory internals, but receives help from an intake and exhaust from Airaid and MagnaFlow, respectively. The 3-inch-diameter MagnaFlow exhaust system ends with a 4-inch tip that exits behind the passenger-side rear wheel, by way of the HPA Motorsports roll pan. A final custom touch that made a huge impact in the overall design was the installation of LSD Solutions vertical doors. With the right stance and custom body pieces in place, the next task at hand was to create a paint scheme that would draw attention without causing too much of a scene. CVI Paint & Body in Richmond, British Columbia, brought the rendering to life when they added a clean two-tone black over silver, separated by licks of light bronze flames and gray pinstriping.
A custom truck wouldn't be complete without paying some attention to the interior, so Custom Creations in Chilliwack, British Columbia, stepped up with a Sony XAV-A1 7-inch display that's mounted into the black painted center stack. The Sony unit sends audio to Sony components throughout the cab, and it sends video to Sony XVM-B62 6-1/4-inch headrest monitors mounted into the front seats. Rear-seat passengers are also seated facing the business end of a Sony XS-L103P5B 10-inch sub, which is mounted into the Custom Creations center console that also houses two Sony amplifiers, one XM SD46X and one XM-SD61X. Finally, Katzkin two-tone leather seats were installed to provide cruising comfort while matching the exterior paint scheme.
Belltech's '07 Avalanche shows that they know what their customers look to accomplish with their own vehicles. By adding the right amount of custom goodies without breaking the bank and-just as important-without being lavish or gaudy, Belltech built a truck anyone can replicate.
