It's 12,000 miles to Abu Dhabi, we have an H2 full of speakers, half a dozen subs, it's blue inside and out, and we're rolling on 28s. Hit it!
When you're a high-profile businessman and feel the need for a high-profile ride with an equally impressive audio system, it's a safe bet that West Coast Customs can take care of you. That's exactly what they did when they were asked to build this pearl-blue H2.
Beginning with a brand-new '06 H2, the crew at West Coast Customs gutted the interior to make room for custom upholstery and a serious audio and video system. The seats, both front and rear, received blue perforated suede inserts to match the newly covered headliner. Not to be left out, the door panels received their share of suede, as well; although this time in black. Once the stage was set, it was time for the real action to begin, as a 10-inch Drivesoft touch-screen system was installed in the center of the paint-matched dash to control the massive audio system that was to follow. Two Directed mono amplifiers were wired in tandem to power the three 15-inch Directed subs in the fiberglass enclosure in the rear of the H2. Two more four-channel amps power the eight 6-1/2-inch Directed separates, with two in each front door, one in each rear door, and one in each of the rear pillars. Each door and headrest has one 7-inch Directed monitor, as do the rear pillars. Two 12-inch Directed monitors drop down from the headliner. Counting the Drivesoft screen, that makes a total of 13.
Once you step outside of the H2, the full impact of the pearl blue hits you, as it covers the entire SUV, as well as the spokes of the 28-inch Asanti AF131 wheels. Thankfully, the 325/35R28 Kumho Ecsta tires remained black, to match the deep tint of the windows. The exterior modifications were kept simple, with chrome mesh grille inserts, lower bumpers and skid plates, and billet door handles and trim-which add extra gleam-along with Iced Out Emz H2 badging. To contrast with all of the extra shine, all of the lights were swapped with Recon's smoked lenses to mute the color. Finally, West Coast Customs dropped the Hummer 2 inches up front and 3 inches out back. The product is a rolling audio platform that grabs your eyes, as well as your ears. For West Coast Customs, it's one more successful build and one more happy customer.
