What do you get when you take one of the biggest 3/4-ton trucks on the market, add 12 inches of lift, bright-green graphics, and plenty of diesel upgrades? You end up with one mean-looking truck with the diesel fortitude to tow just about anything hitched up to its Road Armor bumper.
We first spotted this anaconda-themed Mega Cab at Turboliner's booth at the 2006 SEMA show. It drew our attention, especially the graphics, which were sprayed on by a native of Spokane, Washington, George Roybal. The graphics begin with a snake's head and evolve into liquid, silk-like green flames. Except for the amazing paint and graphics, the remainder of this truck's transformation was done in-house, by Turboliner, including shaving the gas filler door and door handles, which make the graphics pop that much more. Aside from the mild shaving, the truck also received a fiberglass Good Hood from Keystone, Road Armor bumpers, and a custom-cut grille made by Peak Mechanical & Components in Osburn, Idaho.
Besides the graphics of the truck, its sheer size also draws you to it. We're not saying it has its own gravity, but it is a Mega Cab. The 12-inch Kelderman suspension uses Firestone airbags to adjust the ride and elevation while chrome links, four up front and three in the rear, locate the axles. The extra height allows for 22-inch KMC Hot Wheels and 40-inch Nitto Tire Mud Grapplers at each corner. To keep the extra tire under control, the kit included six remote-reservoir Bilstein shocks that were given green hoses and logos to match the Kelderman pieces that were all powdercoated green.
We promised that there was something special under the hood of this Dodge, and there is, but there's nothing out of the ordinary about how they managed to get 475 hp and 900 lb-ft of torque out of the 5.9L Cummins. Internally, the engine is stock, but an ATS turbo manifold and intercooler, along with Dr. Performance injectors and performance module, made a world of difference in this truck's performance. Of course, with the engine's newfound ability to make power, a new intake and filter were the next step, and a Green filter was the obvious choice. Getting the combusted gasses out of the turbo's way is a 4-inch MagnaFlow exhaust that ends with a polished 5-inch tip.
