In the popular Nickleback song, "Rockstar," Chad Kroeger sings "Get a front-door key to the Playboy Mansion." Well, with this huge Chevy HD you don't need any keys, because you could just drive right over the gates. Larkin Riser from Sibley, Louisiana, wanted to party like a rock star and wasted little time making the truck unique, after getting the new truck in 2002. Painted blue and white and lifted on 40s, the truck was heavily vandalized. So, like any VIP rock star, Larkin whipped out his limitless credit card and started over. His persistence paid off, as the truck you see now has its own star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
Wanting a massive lift for his 2500HD, Larkin delivered the truck to BnC Off-Road, in Pasadena, Texas, where the crew dismantled the suspension and bolted-on one of 3rd Coast Customs 16-inch lifts. Using tubular lift control arms, a huge drop- down cradle, and dual-shock hoops with Bilstein 9100 shocks, the IFS front end skyrocketed upwards. Out back, the BnC team removed and shaved the rear leaf springs hangers and welded in a custom four-link using coilover Bilstein shocks. Detail work included chroming the shocks, painting the frame black with multi-color flake and real-fire airbrushing, powdercoating the suspension white, red, and black; and adding chrome differential covers. To make the rig ridiculously high, a 5-inch billet body lift was installed.
With that much lift added to the Chevy, the crew was able to bolt-on huge 49-inch Irok Super Swamper tires, which were mounted onto 20x12-inch KMC Rockstar wheels. The factory 6.0L was supplemented with an Airaid intake, Poweraid throttle-body spacer, and MagnaFlow exhaust system. Larkin's attention was now focused on the body. KC Kustomz, of Dubberly, Louisiana, stepped in to perform the bodywork and apply the House of Kolor and DeBeers pigments. Before any paint was sprayed, KC Kustomz shaved the tailgate handle, welded in a Sir Michaels roll pan, shaved the third brake light, and installed Escalade door handles. After the body had been prepped, KC Kustomz then rolled the truck into the spray booth and went to work covering the truck in Tuxedo Black, Diamond Pearl White, Gold Metal Flake, and Candy Apple Red. Once the base colors and graphics had been applied, skulls, dice, cards, and flames were airbrushed onto the truck to give it some real custom attitude. The overall look is in-your-face.
