Driving his street cars all over south- east Texas, Omar Villanueva, of Tomball, got tired of slowing down for speed bumps, denting wheels with low-profile tires, and looking up at trucks and SUVs. What was a man to do who already had a custom Prowler, Charger, and Cobra? Well, build a huge Ford F-250, of course. His request would fall on the perfect shop's ears for such a request, as B&C Off-Road, in Pasadena, Texas, are well-known for building sky-scraping 4WD trucks. Tired of seeing the same old lifted trucks with no personality, Omar decided to create a one-off Spider Edition Ford in honor of the comic book and movie character Spider-Man. What started out as a little bit of webbing here and there, quickly turned into a ride that even Spidey himself would want to cruise around in.
Looking to get the '06 F-250 high enough that Spider-Man would need to swing up into it, B&C Off-Road built an entire tubular subframe for the Ford. Up front, 15/8-inch tubing creates a three-link, radius arm-style front suspension with huge King coilovers, custom crossover steering and five stabilizers. To stay true to the theme, custom web bracing was laser cut and then welded into place. A large web-braced center truss was fabricated and serves as the front radius arm bracket and the rear custom four-link mounting point. B&C Off-Road continued to customize the suspension of the Ford by using huge tubing to create the four-link bars, custom-cut coilover mounting brackets, and extended Panhard bar to keep the axle centered. With each piece painted or powedercoated by Allied Coatings and the final bolt torqued down, the lift came to a staggering 30 inches. That much lift allowed the B&C guys to install large by large 54-inch Irok Super Swamper tires mounted to 20x12-inch Mazzi Hulk wheels. The look is impressive to say the least, as most mortal trucks have no choice but to look up at the mighty Ford.
Keeping those massive tires churning is the factory 6.0L turbo diesel equipped with a 5-inch exhaust and computer programmer. Precision Gear 5:13 gears were installed, both front and rear, and a 3rd Coast Suspension transfer case clocking ring was added to keep the pinion angles just right. To add good looks to the package, Omar had custom billet badges created and web pinstriping and graphics added to the all-black body. He didn't give up with a monster-lifted truck however, as he knew Spider-Man wouldn't ride around with stock tunes.
