Cruising through the SEMA show in Las Vegas, we were stopped in our tracks by a Silverado HD with a commanding presence and a great stance. Upon closer inspection, we were a bit surprised to find that this truck wasn't built to show off just one particular product, but rather a complete package, the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Signature Series.
Advanced Truck, in Gilroy, California, offers several packages to truck dealers, and not just Chevrolet. Working with companies like RBP, Magnaflow, KMC, and upgrading Dodge and Ford trucks as well, Advanced Truck can build a custom lifted truck that can be driven off the lot with a warranty. The best part about Advanced Truck's upgrades is that they are truly customizable. They have several go-to packages that are popular, but they can also help you handpick parts from dozens of companies to get just the truck you want.
For the Dale Earnhardt Jr. Signature Series truck, the crew at Advanced Truck started with a Crew Cab longbed 2500 and bolted on a suspension that would match the rest of the truck's tremendous size and capability, a Cognito Motorsports 12-inch lift. The Cognito suspension was upgraded with a set of Fox remote-reservoir shocks, two on each corner, to handle the massive 40x14.5R20 Toyo Open Country M/T tires. Of course, the Dale Jr. Edition comes equipped with his own wheels, the Dale Jr. Cannon from American Racing, sized 20x10.
The bold chrome tribal and real fire graphics are also another touch you're probably not used to seeing on a truck you can pick up brand-new off the lot, and is unique to the Dale Jr. Signature Edition. Most of the trucks that Advanced Truck build use the factory color.
The already-potent Duramax diesel now flows and sounds much better thanks to a 5-inch particulate-filter-back Magnaflow exhaust system. The remainder of the upgrades are found inside the truck, as a Sony sound system thumps with three 10-inch subs under the rear seat as the signals come in through a Sony XAV-W1 head unit. Entertainment is handled by Sony XVM-B62 monitors, one in each of the front headrests. Overall, this package proves that with some help from talented builders, custom truck possibilities are endless right off-the-lot.
