As if a crew cab F-250 isn't already one of the biggest rides around, Barbaro Gonzales just had to up the ante. This one-off creation is the product of some bodywork that is totally custom, but also completely seamless. It's hard to tell where exactly the various Super Duty parts were merged, but we'll do our best to help you sort everything out.
Beginning with an '05 F-250, Bowtie South Inc in Miami, Florida, stripped the body off the frame and commenced the laborious process of stretching the chassis by 22 inches. The C-channel frame was reinforced and powdercoated before a monster airbag-assisted leaf-spring suspension was fabricated up front. Using chromed leaf springs, dropped spring mounts, powdercoated components, and twin Rancho shocks, the front was reinforced for the massive 49-inch rolling stock that was soon to come.
The rear suspension received a similar treatment, with four monster Rancho remote-reservoir shocks that were powdercoated to match. Airbag mounts on the leaf springs allow for a custom-tailored ride, which is helpful when you're riding on 24x17-inch Diesel Wheels and 17.5Lx24 industrial Backhoe tires. You're not likely to find a more aggressive tread than these, with their thick lugs and heavy-duty plies.
Red's Miami was tasked with stretching the cab, and adding another set of doors to truly make a one-of-a-kind Super Duty. With the body grafted seamlessly in place and the massive suspension well on its way, a matching front bumper was built by melding two bumpers together and adding headlight pods. The entire cab and bed were given several coats of striking PPG red by Chris Stull before the fender flares and Harley Davidson edition billet grille were installed.
