2007 Dodge Ram 2500 - Hellbound

The basis for Travis' creation, which he has named Hellbound, is an '07 Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab longbed powered by the venerable Cummins six-cylinder diesel. Alter Ego Customs, in Las Vegas, prepped the powertrain for the extreme duty that was in store for it by installing an ATS Stage 5 transmission, and the Cummins also got its share of upgrades. A Banks Technicooler with High Ram intake team up with an RBP 5-inch exhaust and a Bully Dog tuner with custom tuning to keep up with the massive rolling stock.

Michelin 16R20 tires measure a whopping 53 inches tall and are mounted on Ion Forged Terminator 20x12-inch wheels. Obviously there's no off-the-shelf lift kit that would allow a Ram HD to clear such a gargantuan set of tires, but Evil Twin is no stranger to custom fabrication, so the crew designed and fabricated the front and rear four-link suspension to tie into a triangulated dropped center crossmember. Both axles were given Oasis covers and were beefed up with considerable trussing before the King remote reservoir coilovers and King shocks were bolted in and the reservoirs secured with Evil Twin's billet brackets. The front axle also got the added benefit of hydraulic-assisted steering; we couldn't imagine operating the Ram at slow speeds without it. Since this truck does see the road and isn't just a show machine, Evil Twin antisway bars were installed front and rear to keep the truck from rolling too much in corners.

Since he was going full bore with the suspension, Travis decided the body deserved special attention as well. Evil Twin bumpers were bolted on front and rear, with a Warn winch tucked away in the front along with four PIAA fog lights and Evil Twin's massive billet tow hooks. Additional billet trim can be found on the fuel door and in the Grippin Billet door handles that serve to contrast the inferno of demonic flames that was applied at Devious Customs in Las Vegas.

Alter Ego, also in Vegas, helped out on the matching interior, as embroidered Katzkin black-and-red leather seat covers were installed and the headliner and pillars were wrapped in matching suede. Alter Ego called upon Kicker to handle the audio duties, with two 15-, two 12-, and two 10-inch subs mounted in a fiberglass center console of their own design. Two sets of 6.5-inch Kicker components transmit the mids and highs via Alpine head unit.

Despite the fact that the SEMA show brings out the biggest and wildest custom trucks every year, we'll never cease to be amazed when we see a truck this size cruising around Las Vegas. Towering above the masses, engine rumbling, stereo thumping, Travis wouldn't have it any other way.
