It was hard for Jason Freeman growing up in a world where huge, lifted monsters roam around his hometown of Brookville, Ohio, when all he wanted to do was build a lowered truck. In late 2004, Jason bought the truck that would be his first custom. The vehicle was an '01 Chevy Silverado Regular Cab. After six years, the truck is making great progress, and with the suspension done, engine built, and body almost ready for paint, it's sure to be sick.

Under the body lies a one-off 2x4-inch frame using Belltech 2-inch drop spindles up front, shortened A-arms, and out back, a wishbone three-link controls the rearend. Speaking of, the rearend had to be narrowed a total of six inches to get the truck to tuck a set of 24-inch B.A.D. Rockstars.

The body features a Chevy HD hood and an '03 Sierra grille, along with a Grant Kustoms full skin out back. For smoother body lines, Jason shaved the door handles, tailgate, mirrors, third brake light, and taillights. To replace the shaved ones, Jason installed a set of 10-inch LED taillights in the rear lower skin of the tailgate. To finish off the body, Jason converted the doors to suicide.

The interior still needs a lot of work, but so far Jason has added a '64 Impala dash for a completely custom look. Also, Jason replaced the factory bench seat with the bench out of a '79 C10. Finally, a Colorado Custom billet steering wheel has been affixed to the steering column.

The engine is a GM LS2 with a Black Bear tune. To get the engine to fit, Jason had to relocate the battery behind the radiator on the frame and the fuse box to the driver-side firewall. The factory GM five-speed manual is hooked up to the LS2 and a hydraboost brake setup helps bring the rig to a stop.

The final touches that Jason has to do are finish off the interior and body, dress up the engine compartment, and paint the whole truck. Jason named his project Child Support because his wife says this is like his third child. Jason wants to thank his wife, his buddy Jason Burkett, and his Aftermath family for all their help through the years.
