It may surprise you to hear this GMC Sierra gets 21 mpg and the 6.0L Vortec engine still makes 332 hp in the process. How can this two-toned, lowered, 24-inch wheel-equipped fullsize truck make plenty of power but still get such impressive mileage? Easy, it's a Two-Mode hybrid. Jim Lewis, from Pro Motorsports in Phoenix, is no stranger to Truckin' as we've featured many of his custom trucks throughout the years, but when it came time to build something different, he accepted the challenge to keep our planet green. With the birth of his first son, Caden James, thinking about the future became extremely important and what better way to teach the little guy about customizing than with an environmentally friendly truck.

Picking up a 2010 GMC Sierra Hybrid, Jim and his crew at Pro Motorsports got to work making the stock truck look a whole lot less stock. First on the list, a Ground Force 2/4 lowering kit was installed and the 18-inch wheels swapped in favor of trick 24-inch three-piece wheels from COR Forged. Jim ordered the wheels in black chrome and the specialty finish really sets the truck off. The Hybrid rolls on General Grabber tires sized 305/40R24. The wheels and tires, along with the lowered stance looked great, but Jim wanted a Hybrid with some real character, so the Sierra was rolled back into Pro Motorsports' headquarters for more wrenching.

Up front, a custom Strut mesh grille was bolted in place with a painted Empire Motorsports billet GMC logo, Anzo USA projector and halo headlights replaced the stock pieces and a Street Scene front bumper was installed. Jim then bolted on Pro Motorsports' own billet door handles and removed the rear bumper in favor of a Street Scene polyurethane roll pan. Looking sweet with all the bolt-on parts, Jim continued to push the limits by working with Flxpaint on its latest vehicle wraps. That's right, the candy lowrider green topcoat you see is actually custom-painted vinyl that was then applied in a two-tone style by JP Johnson, of Auto Distinction, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Even the blue pinstripe and dividing line is vinyl. Don't worry, we didn't notice the difference either. Jim did have Charles, at CD Designs airbrush the Hybrid logo to the Strut grille for a unique touch, but other than that, it's all vinyl. Capping off the exterior mods, a Pace Edwards power tonneau cover was installed, along with a Bed Rug, and N-Fab step bars were bolted on and help the GMC look lower than the 2/4 drop kit may suggest.

Inside the Sierra, a form meets function approach was taken. In order to keep with the green Earth theme, Wet Okole seat covers protect the factory seats and make jumping in the truck after surfing much easier. Several door panel plastics were painted and the Sony door speakers are also visible. The gauges have been upgraded to US Speedo pieces and Empire Motorsports pedals and custom Hybrid doorsill plates were cut out of billet. All in all, this Sierra is the most custom example of a hybrid truck we've seen and we're proud to say you saw it here first. Creating this truck in just six weeks wasn't easy, and Jim would like to thank his talented crew at Pro Motorsports, his beautiful wife Susan, and their baby boy, Caden James.
