For a business that doesn’t want to be known as a custom shop, Anderson Bros Auto Body, in West Sacramento, California, sure does have a lot of custom trucks. We put their unibody extended-cab Chevy on the cover last year, and have featured two more of their trucks since then. Two of them were ‘bagged and another was lifted, but this one takes a more traditional route with a static drop.

Thanks to his oval track racing experience, Bill Anderson, the owner of Anderson Bros, is quite comfortable behind the wheel of low, V-8 RWD vehicles, so it’s appropriate that his ’00 Sierra rides on a static drop. Kelly Dickenson installed the DJM 4/6 drop that uses a flip kit in the rear. U2 55-S-B wheels were mounted on all four corners and the 22x91/2-inch wheels fill the wheelwells to the max, just tucking tread front and rear.

No body shop truck would be complete without some talented bodywork and paint. Gone are the tailgate handle, rear bumper, and all three stock brake lights. In their place are a steel roll pan, Cadillac taillights, and smooth sheetmetal. In the front, an ’06 GMC bumper, grille and billet grille insert replaced the older-style front end before everything was smoothed and readied for paint, including a set of Escalade door handles. Since Bill went with a classis static drop, it was only appropriate that he went with a traditional set of flames over the Sikkens white base. Nate Sisam, at Anderson Bros Auto Body, is responsible for the yellow, orange, and red flames that create their own licks of fire as well as white negative flames that begin at the front edge of the hood.

More Sikkens white was used on the interior, where factory plastics were smoothed and painted and custom door pods were fabricated to house Arc Audio components that are fed by Arc Audio amps and a Pioneer head unit. The painted dash is accompanied by stainless gauge faces and an Elite Billet steering wheel. The factory leather seats were wrapped in Katzkin leather at Gearhead Garage, also in Sacramento, in gray and black to match the carpet and audio components.

The finishing touches to the truck were bolt-ons to the 4.8L V-8. A Flowmaster exhaust and Volant intake help the engine breathe and a Superchips programmer helps take full advantage of the increased airflow. With a great-looking paintjob and a rev-happy V-8, Bill’s shop truck looks and sounds great hauling supplies for the shop and cruising to shows.
