Thinking back to when we were 21 years old, none of us on staff had an awesome show truck that we could claim won any awards. In fact, most of us were struggling to barely pay our rent each month and eating mac 'n' cheese. Tony Laughlin, from Pasadena, Texas, is 21 years old and the proud owner of this massive rig. An insurance check from his previous custom truck’s theft allowed him to pull the trigger on this '09 GMC Sierra 2500HD, and Tony wasted no time in making the truck as custom as he could.
Starting with a monster 18-inch 3rd Coast Suspension lift kit, the team at B&C Off Road, also in Pasadena, Texas, elevated the Sierra to new heights. The lift allows Tony to clear 40x15.50R22 Nitto Mud Grappler tires with custom-painted 22x14 MHT Fuel Off-Road wheels. Fox Racing shocks provide a smooth ride, while powdercoated suspension pieces add show points. AMP Research power running boards help Tony hop up into the behemoth.

Styling comes by way of an incredible paintjob applied by Czar Zamora of Master Mind Designs. He went crazy with his airbrush gun and turned the black GMC into a rolling billboard of custom hues. Czar used techniques he’s learned from his years of working with top builders to add chrome highlights, woodgrain effects, real fire, skulls, and pinstriped figures. You could look this truck over for hours and find new things with each new body panel. Adding to the intimidating looks, Recon projector headlights were installed, as were top and bottom grilles from RBP.
Inside the truck, two-tone Katzkin seats add elegance, while smoothed and painted dash plastics add some color. Each dash piece was cut and buffed just like the exterior, no orange peel here. A Pioneer touchscreen head unit provides the input for components in the doors and a sub box under the rear seat houses two 10-inch subwoofers.

The Duramax diesel is a beast from the factory, but Tony added plenty of extra power and torque by installing a PPE Host Shot II tuner, 5-inch RBP exhaust, and S&B Filters air intake. Strong 4.88 gears help get the truck rolling quickly, and when the need arises, Tony can smoke the tires on demand.
We admit it, we’re green with envy. With that said, Tony’s a hard-working young man who deserves to ride in style, and his Sierra is about as cool as they get.
