8th Place

As the overall truck winner of our Texas Heatwave THROWDOWN autocross challenge back in July, this truck is no stranger to being pushed hard in all aspects of performance driving. But running one of the best-looking trucks in the group wasn't going to be enough to get the job done for Donald Hardy and his '02 Silverado. With friend Kris Jones as the wheelman, the Silverado proved that big power in a small package could be tamed with precision driving inputs. Ride Tech's four-link with Shockwaves did a great job of planting the LS7's power, and with Baer big brakes at each corner, the Chevy handled the speed stop and autocross course with ease. Having missed a couple of the timed events set Donald's great-looking truck into a not-so-great position. With it placing in three of the five competitions, it could have netted the Silverado a solid finish, but the boys from Don Hardy Race Cars had to head out on the road back to Texas earlier than expected..
