For the final step in the transformation, the truck was taken to Hi-Tech Collision in Southern California. Chris anticipated needing more breathing room up front, so he ordered a set of Glassworks Unlimited fiberglass front fenders. These were painted and installed in place of the factory fenders. Doing high-speed passes in the deserts of Mexico can do a number on paint, so Chris had an Xpel Stealth paint protection film wrap installed. For protection from wayward cows and Mexicans in the desert, Addictive Desert Designs, or simply ADD in Apache Junction, Arizona, built a front bumper that doubles as a mount for a total of six Rigid Industries lights. ADD also built a Chase Rack for the bed. This houses a 50-inch front-facing Rigid lightbar and a 30-inch rear-facing lightbar. It also holds a spare pair of wheels and tires. Black headlights and taillights from Recon finished off the menacing look. For the suspension, ADD built new boxed upper control arms, rear frame gussets, and custom trailing arms. The front is supported by upgraded 3-inch King shocks, while the rear rides on 3-inch triple bypass piggyback shocks that come up through the bed floor and 4½-inch Deaver springs. Upgrading the stopping power is an Extreme-Plus 15-inch Baer brake kit up front and Baer rotors and pads out back. Finally, a set of 20x10-inch Fuel Hostage wheels were wrapped in 35x12.50R20 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 tires.

When Chris finally received his truck, he was like a kid on Christmas morning, immediately taking his new toy out and romping with it in the dirt. When we asked Chris if he had anything more planned for his truck, he replied, "probably not." We like his attitude and his passion for building exactly what he wanted.
