Imagine you are the owner of a custom paint shop and want to create a unique shop truck. What better way to showcase your paint skills than by building a custom-painted tow pig to haul your projects to shows? That is exactly what the father and son team at ProPaint in Sulphur, Louisiana did. Tony and his son Anthony bought a 2010 Ram 3500 Mega Cab as their haul-anything shop truck. But rather than leaving it bone stock, they decided to create a rolling business card of sorts.
The Alcoa wheels with spiked lug nut covers complement the look of the truck perfectly.
Starting with a stock white Mega Cab, they felt it needed some added elevation without compromising ride quality, so they picked up a ReadyLift leveling kit, which consisted of billet aluminum strut spacers up front. For the rear, the boys elected to focus on the proper ride height when hauling a trailer to and from shows. Firestone helper ’bags were installed over the leaf springs to handle the heavy loads. To finish off the suspension, a set of 24-inch Alcoa dualie wheels were wrapped in 325/45R24 Pirelli Scorpion tires and bolted to the Ram.
Being a paint shop, they really wanted to demonstrate their abilities on their own truck. They settled on a clean two-tone look with a simple separator graphic. The top of the truck is DuPont Harley Crimson Red, with the bottom covered in the factory white paint. With the paint dry and a ProPaint sticker across the rear windshield, Team Thibodeaux had themselves a shop dualie that they could be proud of.
Tony wanted to thank DuPont paint, his son Anthony for all of his hard work, and his wife Pam for putting up with all of his hobbies.
