One of the best aspects of the custom truck world is its diversity. Truck styles vary wildly, and so do the personalities of their owners. Each truck you come across reflects the hobbies and interests of its owner; lifted truck owners tend to like off-roading and the outdoors, while 'bagged truck owners enjoy cruising the streets and snapping bystanders' necks. As soon as we came across this custom 2012 F-150 owned by Street Scene's main man Mike Spagnola, we knew what his passion is: style. This F-150 is not only visually appealing, it also makes more than 400 rwhp while serving as a race kart transporter.

The build of this clean custom began with an ordinary black 2012 F-150 FX2, outfitted with the 5.0L Coyote V-8 and six-speed automatic. Although the FX2 already looked good, Mike knew Street Scene could make it look much sleeker. Exterior modifications consist of Street Scene's entire lineup of styling accessories, beginning with their bumper cover and black powdercoated upper and lower billet grilles. Bringing in some Mustang styling cues, two round lights are mounted in the upper grille using Street Scene's light and grille surround kit. Moving rearward, a pair of Street Scene mirrors with integrated blinkers add a streamlined look, while the company's side skirts dress up the body's lower edge. Finally, a Street Scene roll pan was customized to house the slick center-exit exhaust tips, and a tailgate wing and red tonneau cover clean up the bed. L and G Enterprises, in San Dimas, California, handled the Ford's new color, with PPG Silver coating all of the sheetmetal. Now that the truck was looking fast, it was time to match its newly acquired form with function.

Given that Mike loves to go fast, it's no surprise he enjoys watching his sons race go-karts in his spare time. He got the bright idea to wrap two forms of speed into one, creating a hidden carrier for the shifter kart in the bed. Underneath the truck's tonneau cover lies a BedSlide 1000, a part that regular Truckin readers may recognize from our Masterlock work truck build. This sliding bed platform provides the perfect vessel for the racing kart, sliding it stealthily underneath the tonneau cover. However, with this addition, Mike didn't want his truck to be outmatched by the kart's acceleration and agility, so the 5.0L received a full Roush R2300 supercharger kit. When combined with the truck's free-flowing custom exhaust, the F-150 pumps out 414 rwhp. To improve the truck's handling and stance, a complete Belltech 3/5 drop kit with new Belltech sway bars was installed by the pros at the Custom Truck Shop in San Dimas, California. Adding grip to the mix are a set of sticky Yokohama tires wrapped around Street Scene's custom 22-inch wheels.

From bumper to bumper, this F-150 is the ideal representation of Mike's passion for speed, and it also serves as an excellent calling card for Street Scene's styling parts. And, just when you think you've seen it all, out slides the racing shifter kart from inside the bed. As far as street-drivable speed machines go, it doesn't get much better than that.
